Grassland are mostly made up of grasses because they receive very little rain that cant support trees. They are located in north america, argentina, southern africa. There is a grassland biome in every continent with the exception of antartica. They are usually between deserts and forests. In fact, every desert in asia is surrounded by grassland. 25% of the earth is covered by grassland but only 8% of it is untouched. The rest of it is used for cropping because the soil runs deep and it is extremely fertile.

Animals that live in grasslands are zebras, lions, wolves, prairie dogs, foxes, and many more. The animals are divided by the two types of grasslands, temperate grasslands, and tropical grasslands. Due to the open and uncovered nature of grasslands, predators are much easier to spot, giving the smaller animals the chance to run and hide.
